UP Doctor Slams The Liberal Party For Awarding De Lima An International Award Of Freedom

A medical doctor from the University of the Philippines, Dr. Francisco Tranquilino voiced out his opinion about the decision of the Liberal International (LI) to award Senator Leila De Lima with an international recognition.

Farce

According to Tranquilino, this is nothing but a disrespect in the Philippine democracy and the independent judicial institutions of the country.

Tranquilino further added that it was nothing but “farce” when the LI awarded the detained senator with a Liberal International Prize for Freedom Award.

This award was given last July 28, 2018 at the Mar Roxas Family-owned hotel, The Novotel, attended by the prominent members of the Liberal Party.

Disrespect

The UP Doctor said that the LI is disrespecting the whole country by awarding an “indicted felon” such as De Lima, who has been accused and imprisoned for allowing the proliferation of illegal drugs inside the Bilibid Prison when she was the DOJ secretary.

He is quoted in the post that he made:
WELL, IF De LIEma IS THE TYPE LIBERAL INTERNATIONAL AWARDS WITH PRIZE FOR FREEDOM, WE CAN ONLY SAY ONE THING ABOUT THIS GROUP, IT’S A JOKE!

Lies

He also mentioned about what LI Deputy President Hakima el haité said when he handed De Lima the award.

“We are here not only to give this award to Senator De Lima but to tell the Filipino people we are here to support you in the name of human rights.”

Because of this, Tranquilino shared the definition of human rights and how narrow it is for them.

“Human rights need to be considered in a political context. The question should not be whether a particular leader or regime violates western-conceived standards of human rights. Instead, it should be whether a leader or regime, in totality, is making life better or worse for ordinary people.” (1)

LIBERAL INTERNATIONAL (LI) MOCKS THE FILIPINO PEOPLE WITH THE PRIZE FOR FREEDOM AWARD TO De LIEma

Shoves “HUMAN RIGHTS IMPERIALISM” down our throats!

De LIEma was bestowed the Liberal International Prize for Freedom Award last night.
In an official statement, LI called De LIEma a prisoner of conscience to President Duterte’s so-called “war on drugs.”

LI Deputy President Hakima el haité was quoted as saying: “We are here not only to give this award to Senator De Lima but to tell the Filipino people we are here to support you in the name of human rights.”

WELL, IF De LIEma IS THE TYPE LIBERAL INTERNATIONAL AWARDS WITH PRIZE FOR FREEDOM, WE CAN ONLY SAY ONE THING ABOUT THIS GROUP, IT’S A JOKE!
LIBERAL INTERNATIONAL IS A FARCE!

AND FOR ITS DEPUTY PRESIDENT TO CLAIM THAT THE LI SUPPORTS THE FILIPINO PEOPLE IN THE NAME OF HUMAN RIGHTS? PLEASE DO NOT INSULT US. YOU DISRESPECTED OUR DEMOCRACY & INDEPENDENT JUDICIAL INSTITUTIONS BY HONORING AN INDICTED FELON LIKE De LIEma.
IT MAKES US PUKE!

The problem seems to be the narrow, egocentric definition of what human rights are.
“Human rights need to be considered in a political context. The question should not be whether a particular leader or regime violates western-conceived standards of human rights. Instead, it should be whether a leader or regime, in totality, is making life better or worse for ordinary people.” (1)
